William’s linocuts focus on pets and leisurely domestic scenes. He enjoys drawing from life, capturing brief moments with friends, family and animals and seeks to preserve those moments in his sketchbook.
He then develops his studies into linocuts. Lino printing is a relief method and involves carving into linoleum which is then inked and pressed onto paper to create a print.
He enjoys the challenge of observational drawing, describing anatomical form and structure with limited mark making. He has taught life drawing classes in Belfast, featuring human and canine models simultaneously! William has now returned to the High Peak, where he grew up.
