Based in Buxton, Pauline is one of the leading practitioners of silk painting in the UK. A professional artist for 30 years, her distinctive work depicts colourful flowers and stylised landscapes.
Pauline uses the traditional gutta resist technique, where the design is outlined on silk with a resist medium before being painted and because the work is on silk, a semi translucent material, the colours are always clear and bright.
Pauline is the Secretary of the High Peak Artists group who operate the Gallery in the Gardens, she is also a member of the Guild of Silk Painters.
Her work is reproduced as limited-edition prints and signed cards and available at many tourist outlets in the region.
