Clare studied Printmaking at Hull University, and now works from her studio in the Peak District town of New Mills.
The gritstone landscape and Industrial heritage of the North provides much of her inspiration.
Her work depicts places with narratives and shared histories, and each piece has a story to tell. Using traditional drawing techniques, she creates etchings and large charcoal originals, layered with coloured glazes.
Working from observation and interpretation, she seeks to record the world beyond the camera lens.
Clare is a member of The Hot Bed Press in Salford, and has exhibited widely, with work in collections across the globe.
