Ceramic Artist

Bel produces handmade ceramic objects thrown on a potter’s wheel.

Living and working in the Peak District National Park provides a constant pool of inspiration. From the elegant stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, to the rolling hills and rocky landscapes of the Derbyshire Dales and Dark Peak moorland.

She enjoys creating both functional and decorative pieces for the home by using a variety of stoneware clays and glazes.

Every piece is thrown and trimmed before being fired to bisque in the kiln at 1000 ºc. The pieces are then glazed and fired again to 1250ºc. The process can take up to 3 weeks and every item is produced in small batches, making them unique.
