‘Art in the Octagon’ is the annual art extravaganza of the High Peak Artists group. A one off opportunity to meet up to 30 of the regular gallery artists & makers in person and watch them demonstrate their work.
Special Guest Artists this year are artist/illustrator Clare Allan from New Mills and husband & wife duo Rob & Sally Wilson who run their gallery in Whaley Bridge. Rob is renowned for his distinctive mixed media paintings of local scenes and Sally specialises in textile artwork and artefacts. Clare’s artwork of local landscapes depicts places with narratives and shared histories, and each piece has a story to tell. Using traditional drawing techniques, she creates etchings and large charcoal originals, layered with coloured glazes.
The event is open daily from 10am – 5pm and is free to enter.
