The Art Café is situated upstairs within the Pavilion Gardens Café. It is an extension of the ‘Gallery in the Gardens’ where members periodically host exhibitions, both solo and group, at two-month intervals. This enables artists to exhibit current work including large scale and other work precluded from the main gallery space downstairs.

All exhibitions are FREE and accessible from 9:30 ‘til close every day.

‘Stitched Up!(again)’- The Stitcher Returns!

stitched work by tracey coverley

2nd of June ‘til the 1st of August

An active member of high peak artists, tracey is a fulltime artist living in Whaley bridge (just over long hill, thru’ the Goyt valley) living in an old shop in Horwich end allows her to live, create & show her work under one roof hence her trade name of ‘handmade in Horwich end’

This show brings together some familiar and some not so familiar faces, all fascinating and characterful allowing for some very interesting stitching.

Tracey’s continuing obsession with using fabric and thread sees her employing many classic sewing techniques to explore the human form. She very rarely uses any pigment whether its ink, dyes or paint and prefers to use her sewing machine to draw whilst allowing the play of light with the folds and edges of the many layers of fabric to create tone and depth

Materials used- reused/ donated fabric, quilt wadding, different threads of all weights and fibres, nail scissors and of course a sewing machine!

All work is for sale (unless it’s sold)

Limited edition prints of your favourite face are also available
