We bid a fond farewell to the following members who will be leaving the gallery at the end of January: Photographer Dave Butcher, Glass artist Sarah Brelsford, Wildlife artist Kim Chadwick, fine artist Harry Frost and textile artist Alison Wake. Most have their own websites where you can contact them for future sales. We wish them all well and look forward to welcoming four new members to the group.
Printmaker Colette Payne will be showing her monochrome linocuts which use the relief method of lino cutting. They feature observations of people, often women, absorbed in their daily activities.
Wildlife artist Rita Chang will be showing her photo-realistic paintings of animals. Subjects in their natural habitat, enhanced by magical lighting, provide her with endless inspiration. You need to get up close to see the fantastic detail in her work.
Fine artist Paul Morin is an art teacher with many years experience of painting. His new work will reflect Paul’s love of the natural world and he uses repeated images within each piece to explore the subtle differences between forms.
Natasha Braithwaite is a black & white photographer. All of her work is hand printed utilising traditional techniques and materials. In addition to her photography Natasha experiments with alternative photographic processes, mainly cyanotypes, a process which originates from the mid-1800s and the very beginnings of photography.
They join 40 other artists & makers in the gallery, making Gallery in the Gardens the largest display of locally made art & craft in the region.
