Ian Johnson

Ian is a ceramic artist from Leek, Staffordshire. After training at the Leek School of Art and Crafts, he joined Royal Doulton as a china painter for some 30 years.
Art on Ceramics was established in 1999 and Ian specialises in painting tiles, (single and panels) and fine china, including plates, mugs, bowls, tea-sets, etc. Pieces include Ian’s own designs, local scenes and commissions. Each piece is kiln fired several times in order to achieve depth of colour and detail, and as all of Ian’s work is entirely hand painted, each piece is unique.
